The 60% shield from transformation (and the 50% shield from fiery escape) is VERY nice everywhere there is chip damage or dots. But striker needs some several things like runes, speicality, etc. Btw i think if you feel good at striker, it is good for you to pick striker. Striker have only 2 high damage jewels so you feel good and save your money. He will strong after relic tier and 33333. For story, start with a dps class. It's still doable with a support but it goes through much faster if you have a dps that has large aoes or that has higher movement speed/skills. Blade was really fun going in and out of combat. Gunlancer was fun being able to just face tank with your shield up and still do good damage and have cool abilities.
